Working Principle
The glass distillation column separates components efficiently using vapor-liquid equilibrium.
Vapor Generation Phase
Bottom reactors heat liquid mixtures. Lower boiling point components evaporate first, forming rising column vapour streams.

Rectification Process
Vapours ascend via precise packing materials and touch condensed liquid. Counter-current flow causes several vaporization-condensation cycles, greatly enhancing separation efficiency.
Reflux Control
Reflux from condensed overhead product returns to the column top. Automation balances product purity and throughput by controlling reflux ratio.
Product Collection

Your collecting vessel receives purified overhead product from the condenser. Heavy components stay in the bottom reactor for processing or disposal.
Visual Monitoring Advantage
Transparent glass enables you see liquid distribution, vapour patterns, and possible floods in real time, allowing process changes.
Process Flow
Step 1: Feed Preparation
Fill the bottom jacketed reactor with liquid. Use the control panel to set temperature and suction.
Step 2: System Stabilization
Turn on vacuum and heater. The system stabilizes around 30-60 minutes, depending on capacity.
Step 3: Distillation Operation
Track the column temperature gradient. Optimize separation with reflux ratio and heating power. PID controls exact temperature zones.

Step 4: Product Collection
Collect purified fractions at temperature cuts. Transparency helps detect component transition zones.
Step 5: Continuous Monitoring
Track column pressure decrease, reflux, and liquid levels during operation. We support batch and continuous feeding.
Step 6: Shutdown & Cleaning
The smooth glass surface simplifies CIP (Clean-in-Place) after each run, prepping the system rapidly for your next batch.
Application Fields
Pharmaceutical Manufacturing
DCM, ethyl acetate, and acetone from API synthesis may be recovered and purified. For pharmaceutical intermediates, the inert glass surface avoids metallic contamination and meets GMP standards.
Essential Oil Processing
Vacuum fractional distill heat-sensitive floral extracts. Reduce unstable terpenes and concentrate oxygenated chemicals to retain sensitive aromatic characteristics.

Chemical Synthesis
Make excellent chemicals by purifying reaction products. This corrosion-resistant design can withstand acids, chlorinated solvents, and other harsh environments that erode metal equipment.
Petrochemical Research
Analyze crude oil and fuel composition. Researchers use optical transparency to study hydrocarbon separation patterns and adjust refinery settings.
Food & Beverage Industry
Recover food-grade ethanol from flavourings. Ingredients that fulfill FDA criteria assure product safety.
Cosmetics Production
Purify scent and natural substances. The clean atmosphere retains high skincare and perfume quality.
Quality Certification
To guarantee every unit meets worldwide standards, XI'AN BIOLAND has complete quality management systems:
- ISO 9001:2015 - Quality Management System certifies production consistency
- CE marking—European safety, health, and environmental protection standards
- UL certification—North American safety standards
- Third-party quality and performance verification by SGS
- Design and construction for pharmaceutical manufacture that meets GMP standards
- FDA Material Standards—All contact materials fulfill FDA standards.
Material inspection, welding verification, pressure testing, and thorough functional testing precede shipping for quality control.

FAQ
Q: What's the difference between glass and stainless steel distillation columns?
A: Glass columns provide complete visual process monitoring and prevent metallic contamination. They're ideal for corrosive chemicals and pharmaceutical applications. Stainless steel offers higher pressure ratings and durability for large-scale industrial production.
Q: How do I select the appropriate column capacity?
A: Take into account batch size, processing time, and space. Our technical staff will determine the best capacity for your feed mix and separation needs. Contact info@biolandequip.com for customized advice.
Q: Can you operate products under vacuum?
A: Our systems reach vacuum sub 0.1mbar. Vacuum operation decreases boiling points, safeguarding heat-sensitive materials and enhancing high-boiling compound separation.
Q: What packing material should I choose?
A: Glass Raschig rings are chemically resistant for corrosive applications. Stainless steel θ rings offer increased capacity and less pressure drop. Small laboratory columns benefit from glass springs. Based on your procedure, we'll provide the optimal choice.
Q: What's included in your customization service?
A: We customize tower dimensions, heating methods, control systems, material selection, pressure ratings, and reflux configurations. Share your process requirements, and we'll design a complete solution with detailed engineering drawings for your approval.
Q: How long does delivery take?
A: Standard configurations ship within 5-7 business days. Customized systems typically deliver in 30 business days. We'll provide weekly progress updates with photos throughout manufacturing.
Q: What after-sales support do you provide?
A: We offer a one-year warranty with lifetime maintenance support. Our services include installation guidance, operation training, troubleshooting assistance, and stocked spare parts. Technical support is available whenever you need it.
Q: Can the system handle corrosive acids?
A: Absolutely. Borosilicate glass 3.3 provides Class 1 acid resistance, withstanding concentrated sulfuric acid, nitric acid, and hydrochloric acid. This makes our columns ideal for acid recovery and concentration applications.
