Centrifuge Ethanol Extraction Equipment - Industrial Botanical Processing Solution
The centrifuge ethanol extraction device from Xi'an Bioland is the next generation of solid-liquid separation technology for making medicines and plants. This machine is made for handling large amounts of cannabinoids (hemp/cannabis) and herbs. It uses chilled ethanol and high-speed centrifugal force to quickly remove active substances while leaving out fats, waxes, and chlorophyll. The solvent recovery rates in your business are higher than 97%, which means that you don't have to do as much winterization after processing. Our systems can work at speeds of up to 4000 rpm and between -50°C and 50°C. They can handle batches of 15 to 220 lbs. Each unit is made from pharmaceutical-grade SUS304/316L stainless steel and can be configured to be explosion-proof. It also has PLC automation, zipper-type leak-proof filter bags, and the ability to be operated by a single person. This makes it possible to turn your raw biomass into high-purity crude oil very quickly and consistently.

Working Principle
Fundamental physics are used in the centrifuge ethanol extraction method to get better sorting results. You can think of it this way:
Step 1: Biomass Loading
You put ground plant material into the open box that has a special mesh filter bag on it. The zipper-style design keeps leaks from happening and makes switching between batches quick and easy.
Step 2: Solvent Contact Phase
Frozen ethanol (usually between -40°C and -80°C) is added while the basket is slowly stirred. At this cryogenic temperature, chlorophyll and lipids don't dissolve as they should, and active chemicals quickly move into the solvent. The most efficient extraction is achieved by using forward and backward spinning cycles.
Step 3: High-Speed Separation
When set to speeds (up to 4000 rpm), the system speeds up, creating strong rotational forces. The solvent-rich extract goes through the filter media and drains into your collection jar. The used biomass, on the other hand, presses against the basket walls.
Step 4: Dry Spin Cycle
Long-term high-speed spinning gets rid of any leftover ethanol in the biomass cake, which raises the liquid recovery rate above 97%. This cuts your liquid costs and impact on the environment by a huge amount.
Step 5: Discharge
The dried biomass cake is easily taken out and thrown away or used for more processing. The cycle then starts all over again.

Process Flow
Your complete extraction workflow with our equipment:
Pre-Processing → Grind botanical material to optimal particle size (2-4mm recommended)
Loading → Fill filter bag and seal within centrifuge basket
Extraction → Add chilled ethanol and initiate programmable agitation cycle
Separation → Automatic transition to high-speed spin, draining extract
Recovery → Dry spin cycle maximizes solvent reclamation
Discharge → Remove spent biomass; transfer extract to downstream processing
Cleaning → Clean-in-Place (CIP) protocols between batches maintain sanitary conditions
The entire cycle typically completes in 30-60 minutes depending on your specific process parameters and material characteristics.
Application Fields
Our machinery is used by many different types of businesses that need to efficiently remove plants:
The cannabis and hemp industries get CBD, THC, and terpenes from flower and trim with little green exposure.
Pharmaceutical manufacturing includes methods for extracting herbal medicines, recovering active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), and cleaning up intermediates.
Botanical supplement production, vitamin extraction, and useful ingredient isolation are all examples of nutraceutical production.
Extraction of natural ingredients for beauty, hair, and skin care goods that need highly pure plant actives.
Food and drink: processing unique ingredients for high-end goods, extracting natural flavours, and recovering essential oils.
Research and Development: Testing on a small scale in the lab, improving processes, and making new products in both scholarly and business settings.
Quality Certification
Xi'an Bioland maintains rigorous quality standards certified by international bodies:
- ISO Certification: Quality management systems ensuring consistent manufacturing excellence
- CE Certification: European safety, health, and environmental protection standards compliance
- GMP/FDA Standards: All equipment designed to meet Good Manufacturing Practice requirements for pharmaceutical and food applications
Our manufacturing facility undergoes regular audits, and every unit receives comprehensive quality testing before shipment. You receive complete documentation including material certificates, pressure test reports, and operational qualification protocols.

FAQ
Q: How does temperature affect the output quality in prouct?
A: Temperature control is absolutely critical to your final product quality. Operating at cryogenic temperatures (-40°C or lower) drastically reduces chlorophyll and lipid solubility. This means you get cleaner, lighter-colored crude oil that requires significantly less post-processing filtration and winterization. The cost savings in downstream processing often justify the investment in chilled ethanol systems.
Q: What is the typical solvent loss rate per batch?
A: In properly operated systems, you should see less than 3-5% solvent loss per batch. Our high G-force spin cycle is specifically designed to reclaim 97%+ of ethanol from wet biomass. This translates directly to lower operating costs and reduced environmental impact for your facility.
Q: Can these centrifuges handle Class 1 Division 1 environments?
A: Absolutely. Our professional-grade units feature explosion-proof motors, purged control panels, and intrinsic safety barriers specifically engineered to meet UL/CSA/ATEX standards for hazardous locations. Safety in volatile solvent environments is non-negotiable.
Q: What is the maintenance schedule for main seals?
A: Seals are wear components requiring regular attention. In high-volume production (24/7 operation), you should inspect shaft seals weekly for leaks. Typical replacement intervals are 3-6 months, though this varies based on biomass abrasiveness and operating temperatures. We provide detailed maintenance protocols and replacement parts availability.
Q: How does biomass particle size impact extraction efficiency?
A: Particle size directly affects both solvent penetration and drainage efficiency. We recommend an optimal grind of 2-4mm. This prevents solvent channeling during the soak phase and ensures biomass doesn't pass through filter bag mesh during high-speed spinning, which would create clarifying issues in your downstream processing.
Q: Do you provide installation and training services?
A: Yes. We offer comprehensive installation guidance, operational training, and process optimization support. Our team can provide on-site commissioning or remote video assistance depending on your location and preferences.
