Working Principle
The unique supercritical state of carbon dioxide is used in the extraction process. How it works:
Step 1: Pressurization
A high-pressure pump takes liquid CO2 from a holding tank. The pump lifts the pressure above 73.8 bar, which is the key point.
Step 2: Heating & Supercritical Transition
The pressed-up CO2 moves through a heat exchanger. When the temperature goes above 31.1°C, it turns into supercritical, a gas-like liquid whose solvent qualities can be changed.
Step 3: Extraction
Supercritical CO₂ is poured into the extraction tube that has your waste in it. You can change the polarity of a solvent by changing the temperature (35–80°C) and pressure (200–500 bar). For volatile oils, lower levels work best. Cannabinoids, lipids, or chemicals are extracted at higher settings.
Step 4: Separation
The CO₂-extract mix moves into tanks for separation. When the pressure drops here, the CO₂ turns into gas, leaving behind a pure extract. With multi-stage dividers, you can separate molecules based on their molecular weight.
Step 5: Recycling
CO2 gas goes through a scrubber and then goes back to the holding tank. Our system reuses more than 95% of what it collects, which cuts down on running costs.
